Blair Vineyard Weekend!

Fred and I were invited by Missy Blair to take part in the Berks County Wine Trail Cheese Pairing weekend.  What a beautiful new facility they opened this summer.  They have 20 acres of grapes at the new location and 10 acres at the site of their former tasting room!  The vineyard was impeccibly manicured and looks beautiful.  The views from there are amazing – I didn’t know that the Kutztown area was so hilly and rolling!  Their wines are excellent – we brought home their Chardonnay Reserve and Pinot Noir.  Missy was pairing our Roasted Garlic Chevre with the Chardonnay Reserve and our Pumpkin Spice Chevre with the Pinot Noir.  Excellent choices.  The Blairs also sell local honey at the tasting room, Prestige Chocolates from Pottstown, BAD Farm herb marin-

Willow, Duffy and Kiss trying to pick apples off of the trees!

What a beautiful day!  Fred is at the Boyertown Farmers’ Market and then he heads to Kutztown to Blair Vineyards to take part in the Berks County Wine Trail Cheese and Wine weekend!  I’m making cheese today, planting mums and placing my pumpkins in the flower beds.  The goats are in the upper pasture enjoying the sun and the apples that fall from the trees.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to Slow Food Philly – Dig In that was held on Sunday, Oct. 3rd.  Madame Fromage invited me to give a cheese making session at World Cafe Live.  What a cool place that is!!  It was a great event – filled with people who want to buy fresh, buy local and eat REAL food!
